(Released October 1, 2016) This report provides an update of the amount of basic classroom operating aid, also known as Foundation Aid, owed to each legislative district across the state. Early in 2016, we issued a report showing the amounts of Foundation Aid owed to each legislative district across the state. After the enacted budget 2016-2017 was passed, the State Education Department issued updated numbers of Foundation Aid that is owed to each school district. We organized these school districts in their legislative districts. The report shows that despite statements to the contrary, the state continues to owe $3.9 billion to schools across the state. Every legislative districts is listed in this report, which shows that districts that have more students in need are owed the most.
