(Released February 17, 2016) Only in the United States, Israel and Turkey do students in poorer communities have lower teacher/student ratios than in those serving more privileged students. Within the United States, New York State is a leader in educational inequality. According to the highly-regarded national education policy group The Education Trust, New York State ranks Number 2 in the nation in educational inequality. While being a leader in educational inequality, New York State also has the second greatest income inequality in the nation.
