(Released January 13, 2002) The 2002 race for Governor is vitally important for the future of New York State. The person elected will be responsible for leading New York through one of the most tumultuous times in the state’s history, working for the best interests of the all of the citizens of our state. Yet money will, as always, play a huge role in the race for governor and the next four years. In the short term, it will effect the outcome of the election. In the long term, the money our future Governor receives from big donors and influential industries cannot help but effect the decisions he makes in office.
